New Head Appointed for Sheffield Park Academy

The United Learning Trust (ULT) has appointed Mrs Kath Turner as Head of Sheffield Park Academy. She will report to David Lewis, the Executive Director of ULT’s two Sheffield Academies.

Mrs Turner is currently Deputy Head of School at Sheffield Park’s sister academy, Sheffield Springs.

Mrs Turner has taught in Sheffield for 30 years and, as a Director of Specialism for media and the performing arts, has developed numerous partnerships and initiatives across the city. She is married with three children and trained at Chelsea College of Physical Education, Eastbourne (Sussex University). She is currently pursuing an MSc in Educational Leadership and Management at Sheffield Hallam University.

Announcing her appointment, which begins immediately, David Lewis said:

"We are delighted to have appointed Kath as Head. Having worked closely with her over the past 18 months at Sheffield Springs Academy, I know that her leadership, enthusiasm and commitment will be welcomed by staff and students at the academy.

"Kath is a highly experienced leader and will play a pivotal role in the future of the academy".

Kath Turner said:

"Throughout my career in teaching in Sheffield I have looked to raise the aspirations of our students and to encourage them to perform to their best. As Head of Sheffield Park a key responsibility will be to ensure that each student gets the most they can from their education and is given the opportunity to realise their potential". Home *
