The ULT mission is straightforward: we aim to bring out the best in everyone by creating centres of educational excellence in the country's most disadvantaged areas.

We want to ensure that students and staff have a wealth of opportunities to explore their unique talents and to build up their skills and knowledge to become confident, motivated and responsible people.

Our academies welcome students of all faiths and none. We aim to provide an environment in which all our pupils can discuss and develop their own spiritual values. We strive throughout their education to instil in them a deep sense of moral and intellectual integrity. We also aspire to launch them into the adult world with a well-developed work ethic and a love of learning for its own sake.

Where we can succeed in these goals, we will produce young people who are well-balanced, happy and articulate. As the evidence of recent years well attests, our academies are already beginning to see clear improvements in examination results.
